What Meat saw should I Buy?

I have been in the business for over 30 years now. What machine to buy is always a big decision. My advise is almost always to buy the following brands in this order, Hobart, Biro, Butcher Boy. There are so many cheap meat saws on Amazon and Ebay. The problem is not how the machine works but how to get parts when it needs a repair. The machines have all kinds of names on them but they come from the same few manufactures in China or South America or Europe. They are usually bought in volume and then sold and no attention given to keeping parts in stock and if they do keep them in stock you will pay! If you sell the machine you will get almost nothing for it.

The difference with the Big 3 is there are aftermarket parts all over the internet, including on Cutlery Mania. Service companies that can repair it and you tube DIY video's are easy to get. If new is in your budget and you plan on being in business for a long time the Hobart 6801 is the top of the line for a busy supermarket followed by the 6614. You are in the 20K range and 16K range for these.

The Biro Model 44SSFH is equally top line for a busy supermarket. I tried looking around online and it might even be a little less than that Hobart 6801. Each have the larger 142" blade. The various 3334 models have a 124" blade and are also exceptional machines.

Butcher Boy is still in business, but I believe the focus more on meat packers than supermarkets. Which brings me to a great alternative if price is and issue. Buy it used. All three brand are great options when you are able to find one on Ebay or in a restaurant supply house. Obviously know your prices and haggle. You can buy one of these machines. Use it in a high volume business, and then it can be sold easily for a good price.

There is a need for some cheap machines but in my opinion they should only be used for restaurant use or any much smaller volume business. I looked all over the internet and if you do need a cheap machine this is by far the best deal. I would get the warranty on it because if it does break Amazon will honor the warranty.
